We do not know for sure, but this puck is labeled "Last game played at Olympia, Montreal vs Detroit April 8, 1979" so we believe it was a puck that was used in what was supposed to be the last game played there, Detroit's final game of the 1978/79 season. Joe Louis Arena would not be ready until 1980, so the Wings played half a season at Olympia after the 1978/79 season.
